Claymores Bowl III Final 2002 - Match Report

On Saturday 6th April 2002 at Murrayfield, the Grangemouth Broncos took on the Inverclyde Titans for the right to represent Scotland against the English Champions at the UK Bowl.

The Final was played in front of several hundred fans of the Scottish Claymores, as the tournament was played as part of the Official Fan Day where the fans get to meet the players. The Claymore players themselves settled down to watch the game aswell, so the scene was set for the final showdown.
The Broncos dominated the game from start to finish. A mixture of Pass and Run plays saw the Titans defense struggle to contain the Broncos offense, whilst the Broncos defense shut out the Titans and only allowed them a score of 6 points. The Broncos ran out clear winners by 46 points to 6. Everyone on the team played superbly throughout the tournament with all 6 members giving heart and soul commitment from the first play until the final whistle.
The Broncos winning team was: Jonathan Ewing (Capt), Scott Keir (QB), Ross Keir (WR), David Ewing (RB), Mark O'Donnell (C), and Steven Giannandrea (S).
Congratulations to all the boys for a superb TEAM effort. They have done themselves and their Club proud !
We all wish them every success in the UK BOWL against the Snipers.
