WEATHER BLAMED FOR LACK OF NEW FANS OF FLAG
- 10th November 2007
On Saturday, the Bronco Cadet and Youth squads took on the
Clyde Valley Predators.
The Bronco Seniors also played the Lanarkshire Steelers.
All three teams recorded wins.
The games were played at Forth on a
fairly exposed pitch. Many of the
players and supporters
commented on the fact that the organisers had
failed to get the 'fans' turned off. There was a stiff
breeze when the Cadets began their match which gradually increased
throughout the afternoon.
It had an effect on the play, but didn't detract too much
from the passing plays.
Thankfully, the rain which could have spoiled the event,
stayed away.
The games were arranged as an exhibition to show off the game to
people outside of the flag community.
While the number of spectators was a disappointment, the games were
all good adverts for the sport.
All of the players enjoyed their games and had fun throughout.
The Broncos hope to put on more exhibition matches at various venues
in the future ...
but maybe we will wait until the warmer spring weather.
