2006 HALL OF FAME WINNER ... CHARLIE EWING - 25th November 2006
On Saturday at the 2006 AGM, members found out that former Broncos Coach
Charlie Ewing was the next Hall of Fame Inductee.
The 2006 Hall of Fame Trophy was once again Sponsored by McDonald's, Grangemouth.

AGM PARTY ROCKS ... BUT LACK OF NUMBERS DISAPPOINTS - 25th November 2006
On Saturday, the Broncos once again held their world famous AGM Party Night.
The venue was theDalgrain Hall in the Old Town, Grangemouth.
The AGM commenced at 7:30pm with the Social Event starting around 8pm.
The Broncos would like to thank those members and their family / friends that managed along
to support our Annual FUN-raising Event.
As usual we held a Raffle which raised just under £200 for your Club.
Adam once again baffled us with his Fun Quiz and Jimmy organised the Party Games.
Free food and soft drinks were provided (buffet-style) and was lovingly administered to
the attendees by hostesses Debbie and Bethany.
Last but no means least ... the Broncos Organisation would also like to thank its
Raffle Sponsors for donating such great prizes !

2006 SFFA MVP BOWL CANCELLED - 25th November 2006
This years MVP Bowl was due to be played at St. Margaret's High School Sports Facility in Airdrie ...
but has now been cancelled due to circumstances beyond the SFFA's control.
All players, coaches and referees were due to arrive before 10:30am to allow for registration and
pre-game preparations. Kick-Off was scheduled for 11am.
Proposed Running Order ...
Cadet MVP Bowl (11am), Junior MVP Bowl (12:15pm) and Youth MVP Bowl (1:30pm).
Games should have finished around 2:30pm.
The MVP nominations given on the Referees' Match Report Forms were used to select the players
who would have been invited to take part in these 'Pro Bowl' style matches this Saturday.
Eight Broncos were invited to take part ...
West/Central Cadet Squad - Fraser Thomson, Daniel Yuill and Paul Menzies.
West/Central Junior Squad - Scott Halbert, Martyn Paterson and Daniel Ward.
North/East Youth Squad - Jonathan Ewing and Jamie Laird.
Also as SFFA Junior Coach of the Year, Jonathan Ewing was invited to take charge of
the West/Central Junior Squad.
There was also three categories of player awards - Cadet, Junior and Youth MVPs ...
which were due to be announced at the MVP Bowl which will be sent on to the winners in due course.

SPORTS COUNCIL PERSONALITY FORMS OUT SOON
Application forms for the Falkirk Sports Council Sports Personality of the Year Awards and
the Falkirk Council Scroll Awards 2006 will be made available in early November.
The closing date for applications is 31st December 2006.
The Awards Ceremony which will take the form of a 'Sportsman's Dinner' will be held in
Falkirk Town Hall on Wednesday 21st March 2007.
Further information on when application forms can be collected will be published shortly
and available online.

MTV TOUCHDOWN IN NEW ORLEANS
One year on from Hurricane Katrina, New Orleans is coming back to life.
The New Orleans Saints, the local American football team, has become an
emblem of hope for the people of the city.
The one-hour show had its first airing on Sunday.
This repeats on Tuesday on TMF @ 11pm and on MTV Base at 2pm ...
and on MTV Base on Wednesday 22nd November @ 9pm.
The show will be repeated a total of 12 times, so you should be able to catch it at some point on
MTV over the next fortnight.

WEST COAST TURKEY - 23rd November 2006
Sports Cafe (Glasgow), the main team sponsors of West Coast Trojans will be holding a
Thanksgiving Day themed event to coincide with the NFL double-header on Thursday.
1st Game ... Dolphins v Lions (KO 5:30pm) - Champagne lounge.
2nd Game ... Buccaneers v Cowboys (from 9:15pm) - to be shown on the giant 15 foot screen in the
main downstairs bar area.
Themed Menu will be on offer as well as the usual food and drinks.
Entry is free and open to anyone over 18 years.

We would hate to think that someone is keen but not fully aware of how to get themselves involved
with the Club.

CHALLENGE MADDEN HIT THE CAPITAL - 11th November 2006
Now that you have polished your play at training camp, you had a chance to demonstrate your skills
in the Madden Challenge Tournament on Saturday at the Gyle Shopping Centre, Edinburgh.
You will have played against other gamers for a chance to go to Hawaii in February 2007 for a
chance to compete in the finals and win 100,000 US Dollars.

BRONCO RYAN REWARDED BY THE EAST KILBRIDE PIRATES - 11th November 2006
Ryan was awarded this years Player’s Player of the Year.
Ryan played defensive back and picked up a near season ending injury back in April after a crunching
tackle during training. The injury never fully healed but he played on regardless for most of the season.
Ryan not only contributed excellent pass coverage and mean tackling but also proved to be a major threat
on kick and punt returns, providing the offence with excellent field position or touchdowns.
Well done Ryan !

LEARNING CURVE FOR THE IRISH IN PAISLEY - 5th November 2006
Congratulations to Team Scotland who managed to remain unbeaten in the first
Celtic Cup flag tournament against Team Ireland.
Scotland won five and drew the last one.

It would appear that Ireland still have alot to learn when it comes to playing International matches
but they played fair and will learn alot from these games today.

SCOTLAND VS IRELAND FLAG INTERNATIONALS - 5th November 2006
On Sunday, the SDS faced Team Ireland in the Celtic Bowl at ...
Paisley University Sports Campus, Robertson Sports Centre, Caplethill Road, Paisley, PA2 7RT.
Players were required to be at the venue by 10:30am for registration.
The games concluded at around 3pm.
Packed lunches were recommended as there were no facilities available at the venue to buy food.
The following eleven Bronco players were in action for Scotland ...
Cadet A Squad ... Fraser Thomson.
Cadet B Squad ... Paul Menzies, Daniel Yuill, Callum Finlay and Kevin Woods.
Junior A Squad ... Callum Woods, Scott Halbert, Martyn Paterson and Daniel Ward.

Youth B Squad ... David Ewing.

URGENT ... DO YOU NEED A LIFT TO SCOTLAND VS IRELAND ? - 5th November 2006
There will be a minibus travelling to Paisley for the Ireland vs Scotland International this Sunday.
There are a number of seats available for players, their families and supporters.
These seats will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis, but SDS players and their immediate
family will be given priority.
Please call Jimmy on 718384 to book your seat.
The bus will leave the front of Grangemouth Stadium on Sunday at 8:45am sharp.
The bus will return to Grangemouth at the conclusion of these matches.

FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR IN FALKIRK ! - 5th November 2006
On Sunday at Callendar Park, Falkirk ... Central FM Roadshow will entertain the crowds
from 6:30pm with the Fireworks Display beginning at 7:30pm.

SCOTLAND VS ENGLAND FLAG INTERNATIONALS CANCELLED - 4th / 5th November 2006
SDS Head Coach, Robbie Paulin explained that, unfortunately, this fixture against Team England
could not go ahead this year due to England being unable to secure a venue on the agreed date or
to travel to Scotland where a venue could be hired for that date.
Robbie has, however, been in contact with Team Ireland and between them, at considerably short notice,
they managed to arrange that Ireland will travel over to Scotland for these international matches instead.

JUNIOR KITTED ... FIFE FIRE TO FACE EDINBURGH WOLVES - 4th November 2006
The Junior Wolves and Fire will have a combined training session this Saturday
at Beveridge Park, Kirkcaldy.
All are welcome to come along and support this exciting step in the development of
kitted football in Scotland.
Both teams are aiming to affiliate themselves with the BYAFA league in 2007.

SFFA SENIOR MVP BOWL
The Kirkcaldy Bulls are hopeful that the 2006 MVP Bowl will be held at Balwearie School Community Use
in Kirkcaldy on Sunday 3rd December.
The game will be played on Astro Pitches between 1pm and 3pm.
Changing/shower facilities will be available.
The MVP nominations given on the Referees' Match Report Forms has been used to select the players
who have been invited to take part in these 'Pro Bowl' style matches.
Four Broncos have been invited to take part ...
North/East Senior Squad - Robbie McKenzie, David Mooney Snr, David Mooney Jnr and Jimmy Thomson.
The SFFA should announce the overall winner of the 2006 SFFA Senior MVP of the Year at this Event.
Awaiting further information.

TRAINING DAY FOR FLAG OFFICIALS IN NOVEMBER ?
Stu Mckay is looking to organise an Officials Day in November.
BAFRA have agreed to reduce the fee for flag officials to £5 ... which includes all insurance.
BAFRA have also apparently agreed to set up an umbrella organisation for BAFRA Flag Officials.
Stu believes that the reduced fee may only be for those already BAFA registered.

WEBSITE NUMBERS FOR OCTOBER
The website statistics appear to have made a reasonable improvement from last month ...
110 average daily visits (169), 3,429 monthly visits (5,087) and 19,180 hits last month (31,927).

The NFL Europa's championship game - Yello Strom World Bowl XV - will be held in Frankfurt, Germany
on Saturday 23rd June 2007.

ALL CHANGE IN EUROPA !
The NFL Europe League has been re-named NFL Europa and has unveiled a new logo ahead of its
15th season which kicks off in April 2007.
The move to NFL Europa is intended to highlight the importance of the German and Dutch markets
and to create stronger ties with those countries.
The new logo and name also maintains very firm links with the NFL in the United States.
