POINTS DIFFERENCE KEEPS BRONCOS CLAYMORE BOWL HOPES ALIVE - 25th May 2003
Coach Ewing and the 2003 Broncos Bowl Squad took part in the Claymores Bowl Qualifier on Sunday.
The Broncos were defending the Scottish Title @ Forthbank, Stirling with only 2 boys still remaining from the 2002 Mid Squad.
With Steven Giannandrea unavailable ...
David Ewing and his fellow Bravehearts played with guts and passion ... winning 3 of their 4 games.
With Lornshill losing to Moray ... 3 teams ... Broncos, Moray and Lornshill were all on 3-1.
Only the Points FA Differential between all 4 teams separated the 3 teams ... Moray +56pts, Broncos +22pts and Lornshill +14pts.
Moray and Broncos therefore qualify for the Claymores Bowl IV Finals on Sunday 1st June.
Congratulations to the Fantastic Five ...

The SDS is an important stage of development for our Bronco Players and Coaches.
Our Club has been blessed with a talented bunch of individuals all at different levels of skill and ability.
The Broncos have players in all 6 of the 2003 SDS Squads ...
Cadet Squads A and B, Junior Squads A and B and Youth Squads A and B.
Not to be outdone ... many of the Broncos Coaching Staff have been heavily involved in the development of these SDS Players and at the same time gaining valuable experience themselves ... working with Players and Other Coaches at a more intensive level.

Coach Jimmy Thomson was guest of the Scottish Claymores in their build-up to their awesome 33-0 victory over the Rhein Fire.

BRONCOS GAVE A FLAG DEMO BEFORE THE FIRE GAME - 18th May 2003
The Bronco Cadet and Junior Squads took part in a Flag Demo @ Lesser Hampden, Glasgow before the Claymores took on the Rhein Fire.
The Cadets whirled their flags between 12:30pm and 1pm ... whilst the Juniors were catching everyones eye between 1:30pm and 2pm.

STEVO HELPS HIS SOCCER TEAM BECOME SCOTTISH CHAMPS - 18th May 2003
The man once described as ... the Randy Moss of Flag Football ... has added another Scottish Title to his Sporting CV by helping Gairdoch Utd win the Scottish Cup 3-1 @ Airdrie Utds Football Ground.
Congratulations ... Steven Giannandrea ... for another job well done !

BRONCOS HOSTED BLITZ AND MANIACS - 10th May 2003
The Broncos faced the Inverness Blitz and Moray Maniacs in the SFFA Conference @ Inchyra on Saturday.
There were games at all age-band levels and ended up an all-day event.
Players turned up @ 10am for training then ... the first games kicked-off @ 1pm.
Everything went well ... a great day for FUN FOOTBALL !
Huge thanks to Debbie for the food ... you get your very own MVP - Most Valuable Parent.
Seven wins out of seven games was a tremendous result for the Broncos. Coach Ewing was thoroughly satisfied with all of the results, but made the point that when the Broncos visit Inverness on the 7th June ... the Blitz will be looking for revenge !
As for the rest of the SFFA league campaign ... there will be a lot of tough tests ahead for each of the Bronco Squads.

KELLY ROY AND THE CLAYMORE CHEERIES CAME TO FALKIRK - 10th May 2003
Kelly Roy and the Falkirk Babes were unable to support the Broncos on Saturday.
Falkirk Football Club played their last ever game at Brockville ... and many of the Scottish Claymore Cheerleaders ... including Kelly ... were in attendance to mark the occasion.
Kelly would have loved to have been @ Inchyra and hopes that The Babes will be able to strut their stuff soon.

FIVE BRONCOS HEAD FOR GB SELECTION CAMP THIS SUMMER
The GB Selection Camp is restricted to 20 players at each Age Band (Cadet and Junior) ... from which only 10 Cadets and 10 Juniors will be going to the Euroflag Finals ... in Italy.
The following Bronco Players were selected to attend GB Camp ...
Cadets - Martyn Paterson , James Muir and David Ewing.
Juniors - Jonathan Ewing and Steven Giannandrea.
In all ... 13 players from 5 separate Clubs have been selected to attend Camp this Summer ... which is a massive increase in the number of Scots and Broncos involved in the GB scheme.
Congratulations are due to not only the 13 players involved but also to their Coaches and Clubs for bringing the players on to such a level.
The SDS Coaching Staff are proud of what the all the players have already achieved and wish them well at GB Camp in July.

BRONCOS NOT THE ONLY ONES BIG IN FALKIRK - 3rd / 4th May 2003
On Saturday and Sunday ... Scotland's National Street Arts Festival ... Big in Falkirk came to the Falkirk District ... and it was FREE !
Grangemouth, Bo'ness, Denny and Stenhousemuir had local talent performing in each town BUT the main event took place at Callendar Park, Falkirk where the Real Radio and Scottish Sun Music Stage brought a chart-topping line-up of Star Acts from 12noon each day.
On Saturday only ... a free bus ran from Callendar Park throughout the afternoon to Scotland's most exciting new tourist attraction ... The Falkirk Wheel.
Big in Falkirk was a partnership between Falkirk Council, BP Grangemouth and UZ Events.
Others included ... Real Radio and The Scottish Sun who are both National Media Sponsors AND
the Falkirk Herald their Local Media Partner.

MR CHATTERBOX WILL BE BACK ... AND AS GOOD AS NEW - 9th May 2003
Our very own Broncos Quiet Man ... John Myles has not only finished his exams ... he has also now undergone surgery on his back.
The operation took place on Friday 9th May @ the Western Hospital in Edinburgh ...
Everyone at the Club wishes John a speedy recovery !

NALL STAND UP ... FOR OFFENSIVE MVP OF WEEK 8 - 27th May 2003
Craig Nall has been named Offensive Player of the Week following his 300-yard passing display against the Amsterdam Admirals.
The result gave the Claymores a 4-4 record for the season with two games remaining before World Bowl XI.

WOULD YOU ADEN AND EVE IT ! - 27th May 2003
Meanwhile, the Claymores have made more Roster changes with English LB Aden Durde replacing crocked-jock Stuart Hare in the Squad for the remainder of the season.
Aden is no stranger to the Claymores ... he was offered a place at Full Training Camp earlier this season after impressing at National Camp in Tampa but job commitments meant he had to reluctantly decline the offer.

ROB PETTY TO GET ... BODYBAG ? - 27th May 2003
Claymores PS LB Jermaine Petty has been re-assigned to the Dragons and becomes the latest
Roster Dodger.
The Dragons have had problems at LB position and exercised their right to take Jermaine to Barcelona.
The Scottish Defense has however been bolstered by the inclusion of Shannon 'Bodybag' Wadley, nicknamed for his hard-hitting style, from Berlin.
Shannon will also be expected to assist our Special Teams too !

MORGAN SPICES UP THE CALGARY
Two WRs familiar to Claymores and WLAF fans have apparently signed with the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League ... Kenyatte Morgan and Latario Rachal.

BULLS BLITZ INVERNESS - 24th May 2003
The Kirkcaldy Bulls travelled north to Inverness to face the Inverness Blitz.
The Youth Squad won 32-18 and the Senior Squad easily disposed of the Blitz 73-6.
MVPs were Brian Barr (Youth) and Paul Arnold (Senior).

MESSAGE IS NO BOTTLE - 10th May 2003
After going into a 14-0 lead the Claymores threw away more vital opportunities.
Galaxy gave the Claymores a life-line by putting the game into Overtime after missing a PAT in the last seconds of the game ... only for the Claymores to blow their attempt and the Galaxy to stick the Claymore deep in their hearts by scoring a TD on the next possession.

Claymore Jermaine Benoit who was signed by Los Angeles Avengers of the AFL in March ... was placed on the Injured Reserve List with a strained right hamstring in April and ... has now been released in May.

GIRLS TO FREAK OUT AT WORLD BOWL - 7th May 2003
Claymores Official Website reveals that the Sugababes are to be the Main Half-time Attraction at the World Bowl XI in Glasgow on the 14th June.
Also confirmed is Fish ... who will be singing 'Caledonia' pre-game.

HEYWARD NOW WAYWARD - 7th May 2003
Claymore CB Keith Heyward-Johnson has been signed at the last minute by the 49ers and will not now be coming back to the Claymores this year.

THREE RAMS GET GB CALL-UP
David O'Rourke, Martin Wallace and ex-Bronco Adam Donaldson all received GB Call-Ups.
Adam will be at GB Camp (for RBs and Linemen) in Crystal Palace on the weekend of the 24th / 25th May.
There are also going to be two further GB Camps ... a 2-day Camp in Scotland and a 4-day Camp in Durham.

KEN GETS ANOTHER MVP IN WEEK 5 - 6th May 2003
Claymores RB Ken Simonton has been named Offensive MVP of the Week by the NFL Europe League for the 2nd time in five weeks.

NFL Europe League have re-allocated Claymore Chris Brown (PS) ... to Frankfurt Galaxy.
However, the Claymores hope to re-introduce last season's CB Keith Heyward-Johnson at practice on Thursday, subject to a medical.

RAMS WIN ON THE ROAD - 4th May 2003
The Junior Rams played in a 5-on-5 Kitted Friendly Tournament @ Holyrood, Glasgow on Sunday.
The North Lanarkshire Rams won 56-28 against Inverclyde Sharks and 38-6 against the Craigmount Cougars to be crowned Champs !
Present from the Broncos were Jonathan Ewing, Blair McTague, Mark O'Donnell and ... Coached by Charlie Ewing on the day.
Bronco Blair McTague was voted Tournament MVP with Jonathan Ewing getting his usual fair share of TDs.

WOLVES AND TIGERS FACED EACH OTHER IN WEEK 5 OF BSL - 3rd May 2003
On Saturday, Edinburgh Wolves travelled West to meet the Glasgow Tigers @ Cambuslang Rugby Club.
A close result ... with the Tigers winning 14-6 to record their first win of the Season and leave the Wolves without a win in their first BSL year.

SCOTS GIRLS BEAR FRUIT AGAINST DRAGONS - 4th May 2003
The Scottish Girl Band ... Lemonescent ... played a wee tartan number in-stadium @ half-time.
Another Scot, singer songwriter Tippi was the star attraction at the wet pre-game party.

Claymores CB Keon Moore, an active NFL Europe League PS Player ... has been re-assigned to the Amsterdam Admirals.

LANDRY TOOK THE MICHAEL IN BERLIN
Claymores DE Michael Landry equalled the Claymores record for most sacks in a game last weekend when he claimed 2.5 QB stops against Berlin Thunder.
Michael matched the achievements of DL John DeWitt in May 1996.
