NFL SAY NO TO OVERTIME CHANGE BUT YES TO ONSIDE KICKS -
26th March 2003
Not enough votes were gained to change the NFL rules on OT to the same
as NFLE.
A slight change for onside kicks was however passed ... now when a
trailing team goes for an onside kick in the last 5 minutes of a game
they will not get the opportunity to re-kick from 5 yards further back
if the ball does not go 10 yards or is touched illegally ... thus
taking away the reward of a second chance for an illegal play for teams
using the onside kick late in a game trying to get another possesion.

What next ... Roy Keane on the D-Line ... 15 yard penalty for face
