THREE BRONCOS TO ATTEND GB LIONS CAMP - 30th June 2006
Congratulations to Scott Halbert, Callum Woods and Martyn Paterson who have been selected by the
SDS Coaches to attend the upcoming GB Camp.
Everyone concerned should have received their official notification from the GB Head Coach Jon Tait.
Junior GB Lions Camp will run from Saturday night (22nd July) and all day Sunday (23rd July).
The Lions camp is being held just outside Darlington.
Registration is at 6pm on the Saturday.

BULLS FINISH FOURTH IN FRENCH TOURNAMENT - 24th / 25th June 2006
The Kirkcaldy Bulls played 8 games over 2 days in the top category of the 2006 Flag Oceane Tournament
in Le Havre, France.
Teams from Italy, Denmark, Germany and France ... including the Italian, Danish champions and
last years French tournament champions.
The Bulls finished in a credible fourth place, just losing out on a final appearance by 1pt to the French
and losing the 3rd/4th place game to the Danes.
1st ... Cleevers (Italy), 2nd ... Pygargues Troyes (France) and 3rd ... Mammoths (Denmark).
The Broncos congratulate our rival SFFA Club who have done Scotland proud ... Well Done Guys !

BRONCOS INVITED TO BULLS OPEN DAY
The Kirkcaldy Bulls have invited the Bronco Seniors to take part in their Open Day
on Saturday the 8th July.
Could all Senior players let Coach Thomson know as soon as possible if you are available or not.

EDINBURGH ENJOYS 'MORES 10TH ANNIVERSARY WB '96 WEEKEND - 23rd / 25th June 2006
It has been 10 years since the Claymores won their only World Bowl.
TouchdownClaymores.com and the Scottish Gridiron Association executed a series of events for
football fans centred around this weekend. All events were based in Edinburgh just like World Bowl '96.
On Saturday, the SGA hosted a day of football ... from flag through to senior kitted.
The SGA Football Festival took place at Meadowbank Stadium in Edinburgh from 10am until 4pm.
Flag Results ... Broncos 26 v Cobras 6, Hornets 13 v Broncos 14, Cobras 7 v Hornets 18 and
TDC Edinburgh 30 v TDC Glasgow 19.
Kitted Result ... Edinburgh Wolves W v Glasgow Tigers L.
Later on the Main Fan Event moved to the Walkabout in the Omni Centre (Edinburgh) from 8pm - 1am.

BRONCO SENIORS WIN WB'96 SENIOR FLAG TROPHY EVENT - 24th June 2006
On Saturday, the Bronco Seniors left Meadowbank, Edinburgh with a relieved smile on their faces.
After a poor result against the Bulls in the SFFA League the Broncos managed to forget their League
form to produce two wins over the Carluke Cobras and the Glasgow Hornets to claim the prestige title of
the Claymores 10th Anniversary World Bowl '96 Senior Flag Trophy Champions.
Well done to the Seniors !

WB'96 FLAG EVENT LEAVES RYAN IN STITCHES - 24th June 2006
Bronco Senior, Ryan Hunter was involved in a collision at the Claymores 10th Anniversary
World Bowl '96 Senior Flag Trophy Event which left him with SEVEN stitches to the head.
The Broncos Organisation hopes that the Bronco Wizard recovers quickly and it won't spoil
his devilish good looks.

CLAYMORES 10TH ANNIVERSARY WB'96 FLAG EVENT IN EDINBURGH - 24th June 2006
The Bronco Seniors have agreed to take part in the Flag Event.
Meadowbank's gates open at 10am and the organisers are hoping to start the adult games at 10:15am.
Players / Officials should be there for 10am to help set out the field and warm up.
Senior Flag Trophy ... Grangemouth Broncos, Glasgow Hornets and Carluke Cobras will play each other
once ... the ultimate winner to be decided on number of wins then points difference.
Youth Flag Trophy ... Clyde Valley Predators vs Edinburgh Wolves.
TDC Flag Bowl ... TDC Glasgow Sabres vs TDC Edinburgh.
The organisers will probably go for something like 2x15 minute running clock halves ...
thus keeping the game more exciting for spectators.
Proposed Order of Play ...
Senior Trophy (Game 1), Youth Flag Trophy, Senior Trophy (Game 2),
TDC Bowl then finally the Senior Trophy (Game 3).
The Flag Events must be finished by 1:30pm at the latest.

SGA ANNOUNCE 2006 CLAYMORES HALL OF FAME WINNERS - 24th June 2006
The Scottish Gridiron Association announced the nominees for the 2006 induction into the
Scottish Claymores Hall of Fame back in April.
Voting by both fans and media ran from April until the 27th May.
The results were announced at the Scottish American Football Festival.
The following popular Claymores made it ...
Scott Couper, Rob Hart, Craig Nall, Scott McCready, Robert Flickinger,
Chris Ward and Steve Livingstone.

TALK107 SUPPORTS CLAYMORES 10TH ANNIVERSARY WB'96 - 23rd / 24th June 2006
Talk107 will be previewing the 10th Anniversary Weekend on Friday night from 7pm on their
Friday Sports Show.

American football with Ramsey Jones.

BOOK A PLACE TO LEARN FLAG FOOTBALL AT STENHOUSEMUIR - 21st / 23rd June 2006
As part of the active schools programme there will 2 weeks of FREE sports and play activities for
P1 - P7 children in the Larbert Cluster held at Stenhousemuir Sports Centre.
Events take place ... 4th to 7th July and 14th to 19th August.
On Tuesday, 4th July (2pm until 3pm) children in P4 - P7 will be taught how to play Flag Football.

JONATHAN ACCEPTS GB LIONS COACHING POSITION - June 2006
GB Lions new Cadet Coach, Gemma Eaton (Leicester Eagles) has appointed Jonathan Ewing
as her Assistant Cadet Coach for the 2006 GB Lions Flag Football Programme ...
which initially involves preparing the GB Lions for hosting the
2006 Junior European Championships in England (September).
Well Done Coach !

NEW STRIPS ON ORDER THANKS TO NEW SPONSOR !
The Broncos are in the process of ordering new football shirts thanks to a
£500 donation from Romulus Business Intelligence 10 Lochside Place, Edinburgh Park, Edinburgh.
The funds will cover the cost of shirts for 2 Squads.

FUN IN THE SUN ... INDEPENDENCE DAY IN DUNDEE
The Dundee Hurricanes are holding Independence Bowl 2006 on the 2nd July at Dawson Park in Dundee.
The Event will be 5-on-5 flag ... female and under 16 required on all teams.
Entry Fee ... £1 per player.
It is to be a Fun Event with a trophy presented to the winners.
Cheerleaders will be in attendance and a B-Que at the end.

MEMBERS OF THE COMMITTEE - 19th June 2006
The fourth Committee Meeting of the year was held on Monday at the Thomson Residence.

CHANGES TO NFL SCHOOL FLAG RULES - 17th June 2006
New rule changes from the NFL, which have been adopted by EFAF for Schools take effect immediately.
Timing, female players, 7-second-rule, diving, flagrant contact, player out of bounds, offensive blocking
and forward hand-offs are all covered in the amendments.
The changes will be published by EFAF as soon as possible.
These rules have NOT yet been accepted by the SFFA therefore all members and referees officiating
SFFA League matches must adhere to the accepted rules for SFFA play.
These rule changes will be discussed at SFFA Committee level and possibly at the next GCM.
Please note though that they may well be accepted by EFAF and therefore will apply to any
International/ National play for 2007 onwards. They may even come into force for Euroflag 2006.
The SFFA will keep all players and coaches posted on further developments.

GRANGEMOUTH CHILDREN'S DAY - 17th June 2006
The popular event celebrated its 100th Anniversary this year, with events taking place
throughout the day at Zetland Park and Grangemouth Stadium.

BRONCO SENIORS AT THE MERCY OF THE BULLS - 11th June 2006
On Sunday, the Bronco Seniors travelled to Beveridge Park, Kirkcaldy to play the Bulls.
The Broncos did not have one of their better days and at 51-19 to the Bulls the Coach decided to take
the Mercy Rule ... and live to fight another day (Inchyra Park - 5th Aug).

GET WELL SOON ... DANIEL ! - 10th June 2006
Bronco Junior player, Daniel Ward has unfortunately broke his finger while on duty at SDS training.
Let's hope it won't be 6 weeks until his welcome return.
The Club wishes Daniel a speedy recovery and suggests that whilst drinking out of a china tea-cup
he avoids putting his pinky in the air !

BRONCOS AGAIN TRAVELLED FOR MORE SDS TRAINING - 10th June 2006
The SDS training session took place on Saturday in Stirling.
Many of the Broncos players were practicing with the Scotland Squad,
looking to impress the SDS Coaches enough to get nominations for the Great Britain tryouts.
Players will be informed of their 'A' or 'B' SDS Squad selection by letter in the near future.
The next, and last SDS Session prior to the Scotland v England Match Meet, will be on
Saturday 21st October 2006, same time, same place.

BRONCOS SETTLE FOR TWO WINS OUT OF THREE AGAINST THE HORNETS - 3rd June 2006
On Saturday we welcomed the Glasgow Hornets to Inchyra Park.
The Cadets, Juniors and Seniors were all in action.
The Cadets performed very well but never managed to get their first SFFA win.
The Juniors bounced back after a Tigers defeat last week.
The Seniors, after two postponed games, won their opening SFFA game of the season.

as the Club does not want to fork out for tops that cannot be used.

NEW BRONCO STRIPS ON THE HORIZON !
The Broncos are currently looking into the possibility of purchasing new football tops for the Club
following a sizeable donation from a new sponsor.
These new tops will cost approximately £25.
Non-Members can also buy a No 11 shirt for £30.
If anyone is interested in owning their OWN top could you please get in touch with
Maureen Ewing (Chairman) as soon as possible ...
either at training or by E-Mail ... so that Maureen can collate the number of tops required.
This is in addition to any potential order the Broncos Organisation may make.

SFFA CLUBS FACE TRAFFIC DELAYS FOR FIXTURES UP NORTH
Redevelopment of the Toll Plaza is planned between May 2005 and June 2006 ...
some NORTHBOUND delays can be expected due to limited number of booths open.

BRONCO SECOND QUARTER TRAINING FEES NOW OVERDUE
As you are aware we have changed the Club Fee Structure for 2006 and your first quarter payment
has already been received.
A letter should now have been received asking you to forward the second quarter's payment (£25)
before the End of May.
As we would appreciate the payment as soon as possible ...
a SAE was provided for you to return the payment.
Cheques should be made payable to ... 'Grangemouth Broncos Flag FC'.
