The cut-off date for
registering for the 2008 Season is this Monday.
BAFL will not accept late admissions.

IMPORTANT ... BRONCOS AGM / PARTY DATE ANNOUNCED
Due to other commitments the Club had to postpone the AGM from its
usual time spot
at the end of November.
The good news is ... the new date is now Saturday 9th February at the
Dalgrain Hall (Grangemouth).
THIS SFFA IS DEAD, CEASED TO BE ... NO LONGER

At the SFFA AGM the SFFA voted unanimously to accept BAFL Flag's
running of
all flag operations in Scotland.
The SFFA committee strongly recommends that all current SFFA Clubs and
Members give
their full support to the BAFL Flag Leagues from 2008 onwards.

SFFA VOTE TO DISSOLVE THE ASSOCIATION - 27th January 2008
Now that all flag operations will be dealt with centrally through the
newly formed BAFL Flag,
the SFFA has become excess to requirements.
The SFFA voted to be dissolved at a date to be determined at an
EGM.
A date for the EGM will be set after the 1st April when all current
SFFA memberships are up for
renewal and all members should be re-registered with BAFA.
The SFFA support fully the BAFA Whole Sports Plan and the formation of
the BAFL Flag Leagues.

SFFA AGM SCHEDULED TO GO AHEAD IN PERTH
- 26th January 2008
This year's
SFFA AGM takes place at Bell's Sports Centre,
Hay Street, Perth, PH1 5HS this Saturday.
The meeting will start, in the Inch Studio of Bell's Sports Centre,
at 10:30am.
The closing date for submission of items for the SFFA AGM Agenda was
21st January.
All SFFA Member Clubs are asked to confirm, by
e-mail to the SFFA Secretary and/or President,
their attendance at the AGM as soon as possible.

NEW YEAR SENIOR FLAG JAM AT INCHYRA - 19th January 2008
Grangemouth Broncos would like to invite all Senior flag players
(18 years and above) to come down
to Grangemouth this Saturday to play some games of
Flag Football.
All names will go into a hat and the teams will be drawn from three
categories ...
Quarterbacks, Experienced players and Rookies.
There will no charge for the day, but there will be no cups medals or
t-shirts.
All you will be playing for is bragging rights for a few weeks.
Subject to weather conditions. (Coach Thomson will sort out a
weather watch).
Players interested should contact
Jimmy Thomson
and in return he will keep you up to date
with how the day is progressing.
BACK TO THE GRIND - 19th January 2008
The Season starts all over again with every Squad back to practice on
Saturday.
The Broncos are always on the look-out for new players ... novice or
experienced ... everybody welcome !
The Venue ... Inchyra Park, Grangemouth.
The Time ... 10am until 12:30pm.
GREEN LIGHT FOR BAFL YOUTH FLAG - 15th January 2008
BAFL Youth is now up and running !
BAFL and BYAFA Team Managers have received details of the first
season of BAFL Youth Operations.
Gridiron Football League Ltd are expected to take over on
1st April 2008.
The BAFL has adopted a one person = one fee policy across the
BAFL, BAFL Youth
and BAFL Flag (fee includes insurance cover).
From 1st April all Coaches membership fees will be due (Coach
must be registered with BAFCA).
2008 Team Fees ...
BAFL Flag (Cadet, Junior and Youth) £50 per Club
(previously £55 per Club)
Flag Age Ranges ...
Cadet - age 7-11 (effectively under 12 on 1st September 2008)
Junior - age 11-14 (effectively under 15 on 1st September 2008)
Youth - age 14-17 (effectively under 18 on 1st September 2008)
The cut-off date for
registering is 28th January.

GB Lions Head Coach (Stu McKay) has submitted
budget proposals to
Jim Messenger, National Programme BAFA.
The budget, including plan, covers the next 3 years leading up to and
including the World Cup of 2010.

SENIORS PLAN TO CELEBRATE SUPER BOWL EVENT
The Carluke Cobras
will be hosting there 2nd Superbowl Saturday Tournament
on the 2nd February 2008.
The Venue is not yet set in stone but will most likely be the
same venue as last year (Lanark Race course)
unless the pitches in Carluke are ready.
There will be a small contribution per team to help with pitch costs
(await update).
Team names are still being taken.
Registration is 10am with 1st games kicking off around 11am.
Confirmed Teams so far ... Carluke Cobras, Dundee Hurricanes,
Glasgow Hornets,
Glasgow Tigers, Grangemouth Broncos, Kirkcaldy Bulls and
Lanarkshire Steelers.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will
announce that the
Chargers will play a 2008 regular-season game in London on
26th October 2008.

NFL have announced that it would return to the UK for a
2008 regular-season game
as part of the NFL's International Series.
According to
BBC Sport two favourites have emerged ...
Cardiff (has a roof) and Edinburgh (hosted Claymore games and
World Bowl Final).
The venue and teams involved are expected to be confirmed in the
week before the Super Bowl.
