The Broncos played host to the Sabres who travelled from
the Glasgow Area hoping for their first SFFA League win.
The Sabres had beaten the Broncos in a friendly recently and things
began to look bad for the Bronco Seniors ... when the Sabres scored on
their first possession.
However ... as the game progressed it became apparent that it was more
a tit-for-tat thing ... as the Broncos would then go up the field and
recover the lost TD.
Suddenly ... the Broncos held firm on Defense and the Broncos Offense
took advantage of it ... by not only scoring the TD but actually
securing the games first point after.
The half-time score ... 19-18 to the Broncos.
The second half saw the Broncos Offense take to the field first and
then QB Paul Kelly started to punish the Sabres Defense for not taking
enough initiative in the first ... taking the Broncos into a continuous
2TD cushion.
In the last minute the Sabres managed to pull it back to within one TD
behind ... but the Broncos Offense played it safe on the next
possession ... running the ball as time expired.
The Broncos eventually winning 38-30.
The Sabres Scorers were ... No84 4TDs and No34 1TD.
The Bronco Scorers were as follows ...
Charlie Barratt 3 TDs ... Jimmy Thomson 1 TD and a 1pt Conversion ...
Dave Mooney 1 TD and a 1pt Conversion ... and last but not least ...
James Kerr 1 TD.
Congratulations also goes to the Broncos Defense for a better
performance against worthy opposition.
All-Rounder ... Charlie Barratt ... was named MVP
for
the Seniors.
