Herald Report:

TOUCH football side Grangemouth Broncos extended their unbeaten run last Saturday when they took on
the Stirling (University) Clansmen in their latest league match.
The Broncos won the toss and started the game with a measured, conservative drive, with Tommy Farrer
passing to Mark Simpson for the first Touchdown of the game. Farrer followed that with a pass to
Ryan Hunter for the Extra Point.
Stirling's first series of the game was equally impressive, moving the ball steadily up the field and into
the Endzone for a Touchdown and an Extra Point.
Both teams then stepped up their Defense and the ball was turned over a number of times.
It wasn't until the last minute before half-time that the Broncos scored their next Touchdown with a pass from Farrer to Hunter. The Extra Point was missed.
With only seconds to go to half-time, the Broncos' Defense must have thought they were going into
the break with a lead and lost their concentration. The Clansmen launched a huge throw up the park
where the ball was tipped by the Broncos out of the Clansmen Receiver's hands into anothers, who then
ran in for the Touchdown. The Extra Point was missed to leave the match tied 13-13 at half-time.
The second-half was a much different affair.
The Broncos' experience meant they kept to their game plan with steady plays designed to eat up the yards.
The Clansmen, however, tried to do too much too quickly and paid the price. They were intercepted
four times, twice by Ryan Hunter and once each by Tommy Farrer and Mark Simpson.
The Broncos scored four unanswered Touchdowns in the second-half. Two to Ryan Hunter, one of them
a runback from an interception and two to Mark Simpson. Jimmy Thomson caught a pass for an
Extra Point to make the score 38-13 to the Broncos.
Ryan Hunter was voted Broncos MVP.
Jose Fonseca Madrigal was voted MVP for the Clansmen.
'This was a good result for us. We need to keep up our league momentum and we need to score points
to make sure we extend our lead in the table. Other Clubs will be trying hard to beat us, so we need to keep
working at our Defense. We don't have a problem scoring Touchdowns, but we have to limit the points
scored against us' said Player-Coach Jimmy Thomson. He added, 'Ryan got the MVP award today,
but Mark Simpson was also outstanding. Dave Mooney and Fraser Brooks didn't get on the scoresheet
but they contributed significantly to the game both on Offense and on Defense'.

Achievements:

Ryan Hunter and Mark Simpson both scored 3 TDs each.
The Broncos intercepted the ball 4 times ... Ryan Hunter (2), Thomas Farrer (1) and Mark Simpson (1).
Ryan Hunter scored on one of his two interception returns.
Broncos managed to score 4 unanswered TDs in the 2nd Half ...
which was a great achievement for both the Offense and the Defense.

MVP:

Ryan Hunter
