Venue Weather Team Result Scorers Achievements MVP

Venue:

Inchyra Park, Grangemouth

Weather:

Dry / Humid

Team:

QB Thomas Farrer.
John Myles, Jimmy Thomson, Frazer Brown, Kris Procek, David Mooney, Greg Bird,
Iain Patfield, Allan Ogilvie and Mark Simpson.

Result:

Full Time 41-40 to the Sabres (H/T 28-27 Sabres)

Scorers:

Greg Bird 2 TDs, John Myles 1 TD and 2 x 1pt Conversions,
Jimmy Thomson 1 TD and 2 x 1pt Conversions, David Mooney 1 TD and Mark Simpson 1 TD.

Achievements:

First 2004 SFFA start for Allan Ogilvie and Mark Simpson ... who both missed the loss against the Bulls.
First ever competitive SFFA TD for Mark Simpson.
John Myles managed to compete in the whole game after sustaining a hamstring injury against the Bulls.
Although there was never more than a TD between both sides throughout the whole match ... due to both Defenses being unable to stop the ball ... it wasn't until very early in the 2nd Half that the Broncos finally took a 34-28 lead.
Later in the game the Broncos attempted a 2pt Conversion which they failed to convert.
As the Sabres took a narrow 1pt lead with less than a minute remaining ...
the attempted 2pt Conversion eventually turned out to be a crucial missed extra point.
The Sabres Defense held tight with Broncos Offense reluctantly handing over final possession with under 30 seconds remaining.
The honest truth ... either Offense could have won this one ... with time on the clock the only decisive factor. Great Defenses win Championships ... both struggled against Good Offenses.

MVP:

Greg Bird
