Kevin Woods, Daniel Yuill, Callum Findlay, Chloe McKenzie,
Paul Menzies and Aidan Harkins.
Full Time 51-19 to the Hornets (H/T 26-19 Hornets) - Mercy Rule Taken
Paul Menzies 2 TDs, Kevin Woods 1 TD and Callum Findlay a 1pt Conversion.
The Broncos were hoping to bounce back after two league
defeats, one of them at the Hornets in
the last play of the game. However, the writing was on the wall early
in the match when the Hornets
got two lucky touchdowns off tipped balls.
The Hornets
used their height advantage to the full and although Fraser Thomson
managed to mark one
of the receivers virtually out of the game the Hornets QB simply threw
it up in the air to their other receiver.
Bright spots in a one sided contest were Fraser Thomson showing his
Scotland form taking more tackles
than the rest of the team combined, Paul Menzies getting the MVP
nomination from both the opposition
coach and the referee after scoring two touchdowns, Kevin Woods scoring
a touchdown,
Callum Findlay grabbing an extra point and Kevin Woods
sacking the Hornets Quarterback.
The final score was 51-19 to the Hornets.
Coach Ewing said 'The final score didn't really reflect the way the
Cadets played. The Hornets deserved
the win, but the Broncos played well today, the Hornets just had all
the luck'.
Kevin Woods sacked their QB once.
After the Mercy Rule - Paul Menzies scored another TD.
If the Mercy Rule hadn't been taken the final score would have been
59-25 to the Hornets ...
only 2pts more than 32pts.
Paul Menzies (both)
