According to BAFL Forum the Coventry Jets Senior Flag team hoping to play friendlies in Scotland.

IMPORTANT NEWS - BAFL WITHDRAW FROM BAFA - 7th February 2010
After due consideration and unanimous agreement of the BAFL Board of Directors,
Gridiron Football League Limited (trading as the British American Football League (BAFL))
has withdrawn the BAFL from the National Governing Body (NGB)
– the British American Football Association (BAFA) – citing the consistent poor delivery
of business critical services as its primary reason.
As a result of the immediate withdrawal of the BAFL from BAFA,
the status of the BAFL is now as a single independent, members association that provides
competition for the wider community in both the contact and non-contact disciplines of
American Football for all age groups – the BAFL is not nor is attempting to become a
new NGB for American Football in Great Britain.
This responsibility remains with the BAFA.
To deliver future services, the BAFL will generate revenue from its membership fees and services
to members – as well external public and private sector funding.
The BAFL Board also confirmed the appointment of Ken Walters as their Chief Executive Officer
with immediate effect to deliver business critical services.

All members of the Registry of Interest had a four-day exclusive window of opportunity.
The general public now get their chance to buy any remaining tickets (Friday @ 10am).
You must go to the Ticketmaster’s website.
Club Wembley tickets are already on sale (28th January).

CLUB BAFL REGISTRATION FEES
Coach Thomson would like to remind players that the £10 fee is now due.

MONEY DUE FOR NEW STRIPS
Coach Thomson would like to remind certain players that they still owe money for their new strips.

BRONCOS HOPE TO RE-SCHEDULE FLAG JAM SOON
The Broncos Flag Jam was due to be held in early January.
Due to poor weather the Fun Event was cancelled.
Coach Thomson would like to re-schedule it for February or March.
The Flag Jam is an open invitation to come and play Flag Football for a day.
There is no entry fee, no medals, no T-Shirts, just bragging rights until next year.
54 players turned up at the last event (6 teams) with everyone playing five games of Flag Football.
If you are still interested please let Coach Thomson know, so that he has an idea of numbers.
Please send Coach Thomson an email so that he has your contact details in case of any
last minute changes (e.g. due to adverse weather conditions).

FIRST BATCH OF KIT ON ORDER
Coach Thomson has just ordered the first batch of the new kit.
Jimmy thinks the delivery date is at the beginning of February 2010.
Coach Thomson will try to e-mail everyone to confirm what you have ordered,
how much you have paid and any outstanding money due.

BRONCOS ARE IN THE HOUSE
The NFL have announced that the San Francisco 49ers will host the Denver Broncos
in an International Series game set to be played at Wembley at 5pm on Sunday 31st October 2010.

BEHIND THE SCENES ... THE WAY FORWARD IN 2010
People on the last Broncos Committee and many Senior players (past and present)
have been sent an email from Coach Thomson.
We need to look at organising the Committee for the club and to sort out the finances.
One good reason for this is that we need to submit a BAFL Application for this year's league
before the end of January.
Coach Thomson does not think there is much point calling an AGM as there are so few people
who would attend this Event.
Jimmy is proposing that the Club Constitution be changed to represent the fact that we have a
much smaller pool of people to elect a Committee and Office Bearers from.
If the people on the previous Committee could please agree with the changes (see attachment),
Coach Thomson will take that as a mandate to take to the current playing members to elect
a NEW Committee.
For those playing members reading this, please consider applying for one of these posts.
(We are only talking about three posts at the minute, given how few players we have).
As for the Trust Member position proposed ...
Jimmy would like to see one of the past Committee Members taking that role.
One of their jobs would be to see that the Broncos act responsibly with the cash left over from 2008.
The majority of that cash was generated by the kids playing members.
The Trust Member would ensure that this money is spent wisely on all age ranges.

UPDATE - COST OF NEW SHIRT RISES DUE TO VAT AND DELIVERY COSTS
Prices previously quoted for the new Kukri Kit unfortunately excluded VAT and Delivery.
This now means that there is an additional cost of £4.55 per shirt and £2.30 per set of shorts.
Players could save money by going for Heavy mesh shorts at £11.75 including VAT and delivery
rather than the dazzle shorts at £15.28.
Please let Coach Thomson what you would like to do.

LIKELY COSTS FOR PLAYING SENIOR BAFL FLAG IN 2010
As promised, here is an idea of how much it is going to cost to play the 2010 season for the Broncos.
BAFA Registration
Last year the registration cost £32. (This was a one off cost).
If you were already registered via a tackle team you did not have to pay that again.
This fee includes the bare minimum of Public Liability insurance.
BAFA Team Deposit
This was £100 last year.
The deposit was to guarantee that teams played all of their games.
We lost our deposit last year because we forfeited at least two games.
This year, assuming the people who are coming to training are going to play the season ...
Coach Thomson is proposing to take £10 per player to cover it.
That should end up with us having a bit of surplus (used to buy game balls etc).
Team Uniforms
Some people have expressed an interest in a new shirt.
We do have at least a few people who still have their game tops and we do have a few extras.
Ideally, we should have a change strip.
Last year, we had to play at least one game in our old orange tops.
Coach Thomson has looked into new strips from Kukri.
Some print-outs will be available this weekend to discuss.
The cost of a Flag game shirt would be £23 with numbers front and back,
plus your name on the back. (Min. order 10).
This excludes an costing for the Broncos logo.
We could get shorts that would match game shirt (in terms of colours and design) for £13.
(Min. Order 10)
To summarise cost ...
For someone playing Flag only ...
Registration (£35), Team Deposit (£10), Game Shirt (£23) and Game Shorts (£13).
Total = £81.
On their website under garments (compression gear) are similar prices to Under Armour stuff but they do
thermal tops which are more reasonably priced ... long sleeve (£12) and short sleeve (£10) - (Min. order 10)
We also do have a limited amount of Broncos branded merchandise for sale.
Christmas Specials ... Black Woolly Hats, Orange Woolly Hats, Black Beanies, Orange Boot bags and
Kids Hoodies ... all only £7.
If demand is there we could order Adult Hoodies ?
Track Suit top £20 and bottoms £15.
Polo Shirts are a mere £17.
