MIXED FORTUNES FOR BRONCO SENIORS AT SEASON FINALE - 30th August 2008
The Broncos travelled to Cambuslang on Saturday to play the last two BAFL games
of their 2008 Campaign against the Cobras and Tigers.
The Broncos lost to the Tigers but won against the Cobras.

BRONCO SENIORS TAKE THE STING OUT OF THE HORNETS - 23th August 2008
On Saturday, the Bronco Seniors convincingly defeated the Glasgow Hornets at Inchyra Park.
Their friendly rivals have still to pick up their own first 'on the park' points of the BAFL Season.
The Broncos side went back to basics and apart from a couple of defensive and offensive
mis-judgements never looked like losing this one.
This was a good recovery after such a disappointing loss in midweek against the Tigers.

BRONCO SENIORS MISS OPPORTUNITY TO TAME THE YOUNG TIGERS - 20th August 2008
On Wednesday evening, the Bronco Seniors were narrowly defeated at home against the Glasgow Tigers.
There were plenty of opportunities to reverse the scoreline but it was to be a night of 'if onlys'.
The Broncos hope to redeem themselves this Saturday against the Hornets.

NO SHOCK AS BRONCO SENIORS FAIL TO RECORD ANOTHER WIN - 17th August 2008
On Sunday, another depleted Bronco Senior Squad travelled to Kirkcaldy to take on the Mighty Bulls.
It was a spirited performance as the Broncos tried to run the Bulls close and avoid a heavy defeat.
Venue was Kirkcaldy High School (grass).

FOUR SCOTTISH CLUBS HEAD SOUTH FOR FIRST BAFL FLAG FINALS - 16th August 2008
The final flag tournament of 2008, held in Drumnadrochit saw the GlenUrquhart Gladiators Youths
defeat their local rivals the Highland Wildcats to secure them a place in the UK Finals
alongside the Grangemouth Broncos.
In the Junior section, the Highland Wildcats (Champions) and Glasgow Hornets will
contest the UK Finals on 6th September in Doncaster.

GLADIATORS TO HOST THE LAST BAFL YOUTH FLAG EVENT - 16th August 2008
The GlenUrquhart Gladiators are scheduled to host a Youth BAFL Flag Event this Saturday.
Due to circumstances beyond our control the Broncos may not be travelling North for the
last BAFL Event of the season.
This tournament was scheduled to be a Youths only (as the Gladiators do not have a Junior side) however
GlenUrquhart have indicated to BAFL that they are willing to host the last Junior tournament aswell.
The tournament will be held in Drumnadrochit (astroturf).
Registration for about 10.30am ... with first games at 11am.
If coming up the A82, it is turn off on left after the shop (sign posted for the schools) and follow road
round to the schools. Parking is at the Primary School.
If coming from A9 and Inverness, then it is turn-off on right after traffic island
(again sign posted for the school), follow road round towards the schools.

PRIDE ... IN THE GAME THEY LOVE - 9th / 10th August 2008
On Saturday the Bronco Seniors won both their BAFL games against the East Kilbride Pirates at Inchyra.
Unfortunately the two scheduled games on Sunday up North against the Aberdeen Oilcats and
Carluke Cobras have been cancelled.
Broncos look set to finish in the top half of the BAFL Scottish Conference.

BAFA ANNOUNCE JON AS NEW GB LIONS FLAG HEAD COACH - 8th August 2008
The BAFA has just announced the appointment of Jon Tait as Head Coach of the
Youth and Junior Flag GB Lions football teams.
Coach Tait will take-up the role immediately.

BAFL CONFIRMS ARRANGEMENTS FOR FINALS DAY - 7th August 2008
National Flag Finals day will take place at the Keepmoat, Doncaster on Saturday 6th September.
The Finals will start at 11am and should finish by 3:30pm.
In each discipline the top two English teams and the top two Scottish teams will meet in the
Semi-Finals with the top English team playing the second placed Scottish team and vice versa.
This will then be followed by a 3rd / 4th place game and then the BAFL National Flag Finals.
The Adult Flag Finals will take place on the same day following the same format.
The only challenge is in Cadet Flag - No Scottish teams.
Broncos Callum Woods and Grant Isdale are also playing for Clyde Valley in the Junior Contact Finals
on Sunday 7th September which will be at a different location - still to be determined.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF COMMITTEE MEETING - 6th August 2008
The fifth Committee Meeting of 2008 took place on Wednesday @ Adam Donaldson's house.
Items discussed were the success of the Youths making it to National Finals in Doncaster and the
potential headaches & solutions (transport, hotel & food), review of fee income, opening of
Sportsters (Falkirk) and the possibility of using them for watching games / holding future events,
discussion on ways to recruit new players through advertising / events / Mars Refuel and also an early
discussion on holding a Race Night / Awards Night after Finals Day in early October.

BRONCOS GAIN ANOTHER TWO WINS AS TROJANS BOW OUT - 3rd August 2008
After much discussion, it is with disappointment that HC David Wark has informed
BAFL (Adult Flag) that the West Coast Trojans are withdrawing from the remainder 2008 Season.
Many factors have resulted in the Trojans being unable to muster a squad most weeks
and therefore can't continue.
Although it gives the Bronco Seniors two rare wins it does mean two less games on the pitch.
Hopefully it won't be too long before the Trojans return.

BRONCOS FINISH RUNNERS-UP AT TARTAN BOWL IV - 2nd August 2008
The Highland Wildcats hosted their second BAFL Flag Event this Saturday.
The tournament took place once again at the Inverness Blitz Academy, Bught Drive, Inverness.
The only Squad to travel was the Youths due to lack of Junior players.
Whilst the Broncos played well in patches they looked a little jaded and had to endure
their first defeat of the BAFL Season.
The Broncos still managed to win the other two games to finish Tartan Bowl IV Runners-Up.
On an even more positive note, three valuable tournament points makes it very likely that the
Bronco Youths will travel to National Flag Finals as Scottish Conference Champions.
Well done guys !

DONCASTER IS THE ULTIMATE AIM OF THE BRONCOS IN 2008
Tournaments will take place across England and Scotland throughout the summer culminating in
the first ever BAFL National Flag Finals Day.
To accomodate the delays seen getting this season going the National Finals have been pushed back
to Saturday 6th September when the top two teams in each age range from England will compete
against the top two Scottish teams in each age range at the Keepmoat in Doncaster.
With hard work the Broncos hope to be in a position to compete for one of those two places at each level.

IMPORTANT SCOTTISH DATES FOR 2008 BAFL UNDER 18 EVENTS
The following dates for tournaments have been set for Cadets, Juniors and Youths only.
2nd Aug ... Highland Wildcats
16th Aug ... GlenUrquhart Gladiators
6th Sept ... National Flag Championships
Tournament Format
Points are awarded each tournament ...
Tournament Winner (4 points), Runner-Up (2 points), 3rd Place Team (1 point) ...
and all teams participating receive an additional 1 point.
So the maximum points available will be 5.
The league table will be determined by the four best tournament results for a team.
For example ... if a team enters 5 tournaments the four best results for that team will be used to
determine their overall points score.

BAFL ANNOUNCEMENT ... BRITBOWL XXII VENUE ANNOUNCED
BritBowl XXII for kitted teams in the BAFL Premier, 1, 2 and Youth will take place at
the Keepmoat Stadium, Doncaster on 20th / 21st September 2008.
For BBXXII the West Stand will be open with approx. 4,000 seats available.
There is parking at the Stadium for 1000 cars.
The cost per car will be £2 (standard event fee) levied by the Stadium.
The complex is approx. 1 mile from the M18 (Jct 3) and a further 1 mile from the A1.
